Hyperhidrosis means excessive sweating and is a medical condition that can greatly impact your quality of life. There are many people that are suffering from this condition. This condition is caused by overly active sweat glands which are controlled by your nervous system. The body uses this method to naturally cool itself down during warm conditions. However, people suffering from hyperhidrosis experience uncontrolled sweating that affects their life negatively.

Dr. Alia Ali offers an excellent treatment for axillary (armpit) hyperhidrosis that goes beyond what your anti-perspirants can do. Dr. Ali uses BOTOX® Therapeutic for Excessive Sweating Treatments. The treatment can last as long as 6 months. These treatments can improve your emotional and physical life by allowing you to participate in daily social activities without the worry of excessive sweating.

This treatment will be performed by Dr. Alia Ali. During the consultation she will take you health history then perform a thorough analysis to determine the best areas for injection. A test called the Starch-Iodine test will be performed prior to your first treatment as this will ensure the best areas for injection. All of your questions will be addressed and she will have you sign a consent form.

The injection is carried out with a very fine needle and the entire procedure takes about 30 minutes. There is minimal downtime after your treatment and you can return to your daily activities right after. Some people experience some bruising at the injection site but this will subside in a few days.

How is BOTOX® Therapeutic administered?

Using a very fine needle, Dr. Ali will inject a small amount Botox into 10 to 15 places about 1-2cm spread apart evenly. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes.

When does BOTOX® Therapeutic start to work?

You may begin to notice results within a week of your treatment and results can last up to 6 months or more. Different people have different responses to treatment.

What side effects may be experienced when using Botox®?

Botox® is generally well tolerated. Side effects may include bruising or pain at the injection site. Rare side effects include muscle weakness, aches, or increased sweating at other sites.
