About the Author

Dr. Patel, a Toronto native raised in Markham, has been passionate about optometry since childhood. After earning his Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in 2003 and his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2007, he practiced in Cincinnati for three years, including working with the Cincinnati Bengals medical team.

Returning to Toronto in 2010, he became lead optometrist at the Herzig Eye Institute and pioneered dry eye treatment innovations, including being the first in North America to use the LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation device. He opened See & Be Seen Eyecare in 2013 and continues to stay at the forefront of eye care through ongoing education, industry consulting, and lecturing.

Recognized as a Top 3 Optometrist in Toronto multiple years, Dr. Patel is also dedicated to giving back through international volunteer work and leadership roles within the optometric community.
